Welcome, to the Library of Fanfics. I am the leader here, Black Wolf. now here are a few things to know about me. If you don't bite I won't. The wolf although mistaken for a killer is actually a fairly shy creature and would actually rather NOT make contact with humans. So if you don't bother me I won't take a negative interest in you. that's the main thing you need to know. I have put up with trolls in the past and it really left a dent in me, so now I don't accept shit from trolls, one wrong move and you're outta here. got it.
in basic terms:

Please don't feed me your fucking bullshit!

My co admin here NoelHoganIsLove or Richelle The Roach, knows the past troll experience i am talking about as she was a witness, so watch out for her as well.

ok so just a general rule that i want everyone to know is that rated R material is allowed on this website. the reason i am allowing it is because i enjoy rated R material and i tend to often write it myself, so i am simply keeping from being a hypocrite. Just keep it appropriate, NO PORN OR ANYTHING LIKE IT!
other than that have fun and be creative. =)

just NO plagiarizing the work of others or being cruel about other's work. i will not put up with that!

so there is the summary and here now are the rules in bullets so they are easy to understand and FOLLOW

I will update the rules constantly, so please be aware and check back often.

1.) Be friendly and respectful towards fellow members (this is a big one, in which I and The Roach will be very picky about)

1.5) One account per person please. If you become unhappy with your name Proboards gives you the option to change it. Just click on your name anywhere in the forum and click "Modify Profile". There will be a line to type the name you wish to display on the forum. So there is no need to create new accounts when you are unhappy with a name.

If you forget your password there is a link to solve that problem on the log in page. Just click "forgot your password?" and it will have it sent to the email address you provided when you signed up. If there is a problem with the email address you provided; you forgot it, you forgot it's password, or you don't use it anymore than you may contact me at whiteraven10954@gmail.com, and I will give you a temporary new password which you will change once you are back in.

Note: when emailing me please put in the subject line "Fanfic Library Password Request". If I don't recognize an email or not expecting anything than I regard as spam and delete without opening.

With all these potential problems under control you should have no excuse to register a second account. If I see someone using more than one account I will delete the second one, and you will receive a warning.

2.) NO backseat modding please. leave the running of this place to Roachie and I (after all this is OUR home you are in) and let the people assigned to mod jobs do their jobs. thank you.

3.) *THIS RULE IS FOR MODS* you need to please be active, persistent, and dedicated. you must do your job well. Mod and Gmod titles are NOT pretty, shiny jewelry to show off. If you are not doing your job properly your title will be stripped like a band-aid!

4.) NO Screamer sites: this is important and I need to make it clear. These are sites where you will be presented with a calm image and told that it is some kind of puzzle like tell the difference between two shots of the image or something. But it's a trick! It just wants you to stare at the image long enough for a screaming face to pop out at you. The first time I fell for one of these I had the shit scared out of me, they are stupid and pointless and I will consider them spam. I despise these and will not stand for them on my board!
They are also very scary and I have heard that they might even be dangerous to heart patients as the fright from the sudden shock can cause a bad reaction such as a heart attack. I don't know if there are any heart patients here but in case there are I don't want anyone here sending them to the hospital because it could cause legal trouble for me!

SO NO SCREAMER SITES! OR ANY OTHER CONTENT CONTAINING A SUDDEN SHOCK!

5.) Swearing IS allowed here, but its not a weapon. so please do not use swear words inappropriately.

6.) Chat/lazy language - Words like 'wadda', 'dat', 'dis' or any other like that are not chat speak but rather lazy speak to me. They are fun once in a while, even I throw one or two in on occasions, but excessive use especially in one or every sentence is annoying and makes it hard to understand what you are saying. If you don't want to take the time to use proper English than forums are not your thing. Its not difficult though, give it a try.

If you honestly have trouble spelling I suggest using Firefoxs 2 or 3 as they have a spell checker like you would see on Microsoft Word(with the red indicating underlines), or return to elementary school if its very simple words you are having trouble with.

Excessive lazy speak use will be treated as spam. I will delete the post, threads created with excessive lazy speak will be locked. If they are help topics you will be asked to remake the thread using proper English before you will receive an answer.

7.) If you have something in your avatar or your sig that offends another member, you will be asked to remove the material. *this was actually a rule at both the middle school, and high school i attended, that someone wearing a t-shirt that offended another would have to go to the office and replace it with an ugly school t-shirt. this rule was also inspired by an incident I witnessed on proboards support*

8.) you may only advertise your own proboard in your sig. this prevents people from joining specifically to advertise, as i find that very rude and disrespectful. This also means no soliciting your forum through PMs. if you find a PM of this kind in your box, DO NOT answer it, report it to me or The Roach Instantly. thank you.

9.) No Spam such as starting threads like I am bored or I like Peanut butter, and I would like to ask that all post please consist of more than a few words. Anything else is kinda like spam I think, so just don't do it please.

10.) There will be no religious discussion as its an extremely sensitive subject and often tends to result in brutal argument. Although I will allow the subject in the Debate Room as long as it stays clean and under control.

11.)Regarding Polls in the Sitting Duck Lounge. I am setting some limitations on them so that there aren't tons of them spamming the boards or causing arguments.

It needs to create a strong discussion where posts can be more than a few words or just consist of what each person voted for.
Try to give as many options as you can as to avoid as many "You forgot _______s" as possible as that can be considered spam.
Note: If someone does forget to list an option you would have chosen and there is no "other" option than just state your unlisted vote in a post. One acceptable example: "It's not an option but I prefer______", in fact its not even necessary to mention that its not an option, just say it. And no need to tell them that they forgot it, I find that rude and spammy. And poll options are uneditable so there is nothing the person can do anyway.
An "other" option must be accompanied by more than just a few other options(say six at the least) to try avoid "other" being the most voted for as that makes it pointless.
Try to only include an "other" option when you are sure there are a few more options but they are not immediately coming to you. Please DO NOT use it just to be lazy and avoid including more options.
If a poll is not necessary for the topic than please don't make it one.

Any polls I or another staff member feels are violating any of these rules will be closed immediately.

12.) No asking for or giving out information that can potentially help a person find you in the real world.
Examples:

Your full name. (No more than your first name should be reveiled as with a full name its easy to google you or possibly even find you in the phone books if you chose to be listed in them)
City names
Addresses
Phone Numbers
School names
Mentioning places unique to your area (for example if you work at Wall Street not a good idea to reveal that as there is only one Wall Street and thus there is only one city you could be in)
NO PICTURES! That includes yourself, friends or family or anyone you know. As this is the worst thing in the world you can give out as now a stalker knows exactly what appearance to look for.
Email Adresses and IM names.
Now personally I feel these are not good things to give out to just anyone but your proboards profile does allow you to reveal them and they are not the worst things in the world to give out so I won't get on anyone's case so much over these. But a friendly suggestion, make sure you really have gotten to know and trust the person first.

This was inspired by a Neopets rule for everyone's safety. If you have good and smart parents(and even more so if you are one) this rule should be a DUH!

This is supposed to be a safe and friendly environment so please help us keep it that way.

Fan Fic and Story Writing Rules:

13.) Although Rated R material is allowed you still need to keep it appropriate, Sex and violence scenes are ok, but please do not be too graphic and absitivly posolutly NO PORN! I think this would also be breaking the rules of those higher than me, who own proboards.

14.) NO plagiarizing or stealing someone else's work in anyway! This is NOT limited to other work here, no plagiarizing from elsewhere on the internet either.

To break these two rules(13 and 14), you would possibly be getting the ENTIRE FORUM in trouble not just yourself.

15.) Please post a rating with your stories when you present them to us so younger readers know where their eyes do and don't belong. The youngest age group allowed here is 13, and there are certain things they don't need to see.

Excess Stuff You Need to Know:

16.) The calendar: Only staff members may post events in the calendar, however if there is an event that you would like posted than you may PM me with the name of the event and a brief description and I will be happy to post it for you.

umm, and custom titles. i know many of you will ask about that, and i am not sure what i want to do with that yet, i need to consult Roachie, my co admin about it, but i DO want to have some kinda special system to earn custom titles somehow. so let me get back to you ok.

I am Sorry but I have chosen to make Custom Titles unavailable until further notice.
